About The Artist

Hi there, it's Calico! A non-binary artist who is mainly focused with character design and illustrations. On my free time, I'm usually writing up some drabbles or crafting up some lore behind the scenes. Who knows? Maybe one day, you're just gong to find a web series authored by me. When's that? No one knows -- not even myself.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I commission you? / Do you have a commission form?
There's no form to fill up: gather your details and arrange them as you see fit. Ideally, I would need references (visual or otherwise) to go off from. A few examples for reference are (but are not limited to) character sheets, turnarounds, an entire Toyhouse album, mood boards, or even a quick MS Paint doodle.
You can contact me through Twitter or email and your order officially begins after you make a deposit. What is your payment method? / How does payment work?
I accept payments via PayPal. I will ask for confirmation of the final price before I send the invoice to start us off.
You have the option of paying 100% upfront or in two installments: 50% deposit upfront before I begin, and the remaining half anytime before the release of the illustration in full resolution. Please note that the 50% deposit is required to start the commission. How long does it take you to finish a commission?
Generally, it takes me about a month to finish one piece unless I have other things lined up. I could work as fast as 2 weeks for simpler projects, but take up 4-6 months if it's on the more complex side. You're free to check in for updates to your comfort, but understand I have a 9-5 office job to attend to outside of commission work.
What if I want changes in the work-in-progress? Do you allow for revisions?
I allow up to four (4) revisions from sketch to coloring stage. My process is normally divided in four stages and I will send in progress screens at each one so you're free to express any need for changes along the way. This makes it easier to get things right. Major revisions (anything beyond color changes or minor tweaks) after the final stage will require additional charges.
Can you draw NSFW illustrations?
The general answer is no if your definition of NSFW is only explicit sex and gore. I can work with some nudity and some mild violence, but that might cost extra.
Can you draw anthropomorphic characters? Non-humans?
Yes on anthros, (vague hand movements) on the non-humans. The farther they get from a humanoid shape, the less I can guarantee you they'll turn out well.
Can you draw {X, Y, or Z}?
If your weren't able to find anything similar to what you had in mind in the portfolio or the art blog, the general rule is to just ask me directly.
Can I use your work commercially?
No ♥ The commissioned work on default is strictly for personal use only. Any form of reproduction of my artwork without my consent is not allowed.
For commercial projects, details will have to be further discussed regarding the matter.
